College Point Roller Hockey has been dedicated to the Sport of Roller Hockey and the children of Queens for the past 48 years. It is and on going effort by an all volunteer staff to provide an organized environment for the sport of Roller Hockey. We have spent the last several years working closely with the New York City Department of Design and Construction and the New York City Department of Parks to make the New College Point Sports Fields a reality for the children of the area. With the unrelenting help of Senator Tony Avella and the College Point Sports Association our dream has finally been made a reality

We have for the use of the children of Queens a state of the art NHL size Roller Hockey Rink. The rink has full boards, player benches, penalty boxes and a scoring area with enclosed fencing. The rink has a super smooth painted surface to play on making the skating and puck handling smoother then ice hockey. To complement the hockey rink is an 8' x 8' remote control scoreboard to keep track of game time, goals and penalties. In addition since we are a fall, winter, spring sport and it gets dark early, we have a super halogen lighting system, which turns night into day. For the fans and parents there is a centrally placed grandstand to view all the action from. Located right outside the rink is a water fountain. Also a short walk away in the new park house are rest rooms for your convenience.

We would like to thank the City of New York, former Mayor Giuliani for providing the funding for the project and the Bloomberg administration for following thru on phase one of its completion. We would especially like to thank Senator Tony Avella for his on going support and funding. College Point Roller Hockey feels without his tireless effort the park and rink would not exist today. He is a true champion for youth sports in our city. We are also looking forward to working closely with the New York City Parks and Recreation Department in maintaining and providing a clean healthy place for the children of Queens to enjoy the sport of Roller Hockey.

A small note about the rink. Last summer the Parks Dept. finished work on phase 2 of the park . They have completed the soccer field and 2 more ball fields. Located behind the rink is a small picnic area which we will be able to utilize throughout the season. With the completion of phase 2 the College Point Sports Fields have become one of the premier Sports parks for the children of the area to use for years to come. We would like to thank the NYC Parks & Recreation for following thru and Senator Tony Avella for all he has done to make the project a reality. We would also like to call out to Assemblymen Mike Simanowitz for his continued support.
